Christian Santana is a Civil Mechanical Engineer from the University of Chile and has extensive experience in non-conventional renewable energies (NCRE) and air pollution. From 2002 to 2010, at the National Energy Commission first and then the Ministry of Energy, he contributed to all implementation stages for NCRE development in Chile, including the regulatory framework design for NCRE and PMGD integration in the Chilean electricity market, the definition of instruments to promote private investment in NCRE projects, and the generation of information to guide investments and policies in the field. In the past, he worked for 9 years in the National Environment Commission, designing and implementing regulations for air pollution control in the Metropolitan Region and other cities in Chile.
Since March 2014, he is the Head of Division of Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy.

Juan Carlos Araneda is Electrical Engineer from the Technical University Federico Santa María, Valparaíso, Chile (1983) and has a Master of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manchester (2002).
Araneda has extensive experience in the electricity sector. For the last 30 years, he has worked in the electricity distributor Chilquinta, the power generation company Colbún and the transmission company Transelec. Moreover, he has been a teacher in several academic institutions.
Currently, Juan Carlos is Transmission Planning Manager at the National Electricity Coordination Unit (Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional).
He is also Senior Member of IEEE, member of CIGRE and President of the Chilean Committee. He has participated in the international Review Committee C1 (System Development and Economics).

Mark Harris is responsible for SMBC's project finance business in Chile. In this capacity, Mark has raised financing for over $4Bn worth of power, infrastructure and mining assets in Chile, and provides advisory in bringing equity to local assets. On the solar side, Mark has closed on 4 utility scale solar financings in Chile in the last two years, including the latest one in June 2017 as Financial Advisor to a 100MW solar project in the SING. Prior to relocating to Chile, Mark worked in the Project Finance team for SMBC in New York covering the LatAm region, and for the Energy team at BBVA covering North America. Sebastian Falkenberg started at Laborelec in 2006 working for the Industrial Applications department after his Master in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh.

Since 2007, he has become active in the field of solar energy, taking part in the technical support activities for ENGIE Department of Research and Technology, in order to actively support ENGIE’s Solar activities and strategy.

In 2014 he has set up ENGIE Lab LATAM, ENGIE’s first R&D facility in Latin America of which he is its current acting General Manager.

Thomas Stetter moved to Chile in 2011 and develops photovoltaic plants as CEO and co-owner of Soventix Chile SpA. During the last 2,5 years, Soventix developed (until ready-to-build status) and sold two utility-scale projects (50+63 MW), developed a portfolio of 3 MW projects and several industrial rooftop projects. In addition, Soventix launched the Chile Solar Fund with the objective of funding thirty 3 MW projects, open for all project developers in Chile, over the next 3 years. Soventix will act as fund manager.
Thomas has been founder, co-owner and member of the Executive Board of First Climate AG from 1999 - 2011 (First Climate in 2011: 120 employees, subsidiaries on five continents, turnover 60 m€, AuM 200 m€). He co-developed the origination business of First Climate and launched the subsidiary in China resulting in more than 20 Mio CO2 Emission Reductions (CERs) under contract. In the project finance sector, Thomas structured and advised energy and infrastructure projects of a value of over € 1.5 billion. He was member of the board of Suryachakra Inc. in India (50 MW from biomass projects), representing one of the funds managed by First Climate. Daniel Rosende is the general manager of SMA South America (based in Chile), the Regional Subsidiaryof solar inverter leader SMA Solar Technology AG, headquartered in Germany. In this role, he develops and manages all sales, marketing and service activities—from initial setup of new subsidiaries to operational functionality—for South America. His key focus is on positioning SMA as the inverter technology supplier for all PV applications—residential, commercial and utility-scale—in the region.
Before joining SMA, Mr. Rosende was Project Manager for Solairedirect, a leading French independent power producer, where he was responsible for the development and execution of PV projects in Chile. His duties included ensuring that project and business development was in line with Solairedirect corporate guidelines, and managing and delivering solar power projects and business on time and on cost. He also has worked for the renewable energy department (energy policy and energy systems) of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, based in Germany. There, he provided technical and economic analysis of renewable energy markets in the European Union and Latin America (Chile), and studied the policy and supporting mechanisms for renewable energies and energy efficiency.

Elías Urrejola has been working for more than 9 years on photovoltaic (PV) technology. As a researcher and industrial engineer, he has worked hard on innovative ideas for the improvement of the efficiency for the trend of PV technologies. In Europe he worked as a researcher on all processes for improving efficiency of solar cells and modules at industrial level. He did his Doctor thesis on PERC solar cell technology at the ISC-Konstanz in Germany and at Sunways he was project manager in charge of transferring this findings to the manufacturing process. In France, he worked as a PV expert for Air Liquide were he tested new gas precursors for PERC and IBC high efficiency solar cells. He gave support to Asiatic customers on improving the solar cell efficiency of their manufacturing process and he participated on the creation of the IPFV (Institut Fotovoltaique France). At Fraunhofer Chile, he worked as Research Line Leader and PV senior analyst for quality assessment of PV plants. Afterwards he moved to Engie Lab Laborelec where he works as a Lead Solar Expert, in charge of building a bifacial PV plant and performing a Research Plan for understanding this technology. He also brings services for quality assessment of PV plants, giving support to the group on the PV trend, and he constantly promotes collaboration for industrial/business development between Chile and rest of the World.

Javier Mozó is Co-founder of CAAAPITAL and Managing Partner of their PE fund DG Energy Capital. Both companies are dedicated to financing renewable distributed energy resources in Latam, and currently have offices in Mexico and Chile. Javier is the technical manager of the companies and the head of their chilean offices.
Javier is an industrial engineer from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, and has extensive experience in finance and business development of clean-tech and renewable energy. Previously he worked as international sales manager for Crystal Lagoons, and as advisor for Corporacion de Bienes de Capital (CBC).

Sergio San Martín is the country manager of Blue Tree Asset Management in Chile, where he is responsible for the South American market. Blue Tree provides asset management services to wind and PV power plants across Europe and Latam.
Over the last 10 years Sergio has been involved in a wide portfolio of renewable energy projects within the Latam region, both in commercial and leadership positions. Before joining Blue Tree he has held different roles at Vestas Wind Systems, Besalco Energía Renovable, Sunedison and TRITEC–Intervento.
Sergio has a bachelor’s degree in commercial engineering from Universidad de Concepción and a MBA from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Ulises Soroeta is Managing Partner at Energy Partners (Argentina), a company specialized in project development, engineering and project management for renewable energies. Mr. Soroeta’s career builds on thirty years in the energy field. Previously, he was COO of Genneia, an independent wind power company in Argentina. Mr. Soroeta was also Business Development Manager for energy projects in Latin America with Swedish engineering and construction firm Skanska. Mr. Soroeta also spent 10 years with global power company AES in executive level roles across several countries in Latin America, including General Manager of AES Distribution Argentina, Vice President of AES Eletropaulo, the power utility serving Metro São Paulo, Brazil, COO of Hydro Generation Co. AES Tiete, also in Brazil and General Manager of the utility AES Clesa in El Salvador, Central America. Previously, Soroeta took several roles within in the Impsa Group of Companies, an Argentina-based global supplier of renewable power systems, as Philippines Country Manager, Vice President of Impsa Asia (Hong Kong) and Commercial Manager. He is experienced in electric energy (G, T, D, regulation), general management, operations, and project development.

Edder Cifuentes is the Head of the Latin American Desk at the German international law firm Oppenhoff & Partner. Mr. Cifuentes works in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Practice in Cologne Germany, with a particular focus on renewable energy projects in Latin America. Cifuentes is member of the Cologne Bar Association (Germany) as well as the Chilean Bar Association. He has previously worked at the Chilean law firm Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana (Santiago).
